Governors' Liaisons Network
The Governors' Liaisons Network is comprised of gubernatorial appointees from each state and territory. The U.S. Census Bureau maintains a partnership with the governor of each state and territory through this network.
The primary focus of this partnership is to provide a direct communications channel between a governor and the Census Bureau Director and the agency’s senior executive leadership. This partnership supports the accuracy of enumeration in the Decennial Census along with other censuses and surveys. Â
With the help of the Regional Offices, the Census Bureau keeps the Governors' Liaisons Network informed of its work with local governments regarding:
- Plans and implementation of the 2026 Census Test and 2030 Census.Â
- Geographic programs such as the Boundary and Annexation Survey (BAS) and the Local Update of Census Addresses (LUCA).
- Plans for and data delivery of the Economic Census, the official five-year measure of American Business and the economy, and the Census of Governments.
- Providing information on current surveys including: American Community Survey (ACS) and Current Population Survey (CPS).
