John Creamer is the Team Lead of the U.S. Census Bureau Supplemental Poverty Measure (SPM) in the Social, Economic and Housing Statistics Division. The SPM Team is responsible for producing annual estimates and conducting research on improving poverty measurement using the Current Population Survey Annual Social and Economic Supplement (CPS ASEC). Creamer has authored papers assessing the role of health insurance in poverty measurement, the relationship between bank account ownership and poverty, and other research on poverty measurement.

Prior to joining the Census Bureau, Creamer earned his PhD in economics from Heriot-Watt University.
