MAY 1, 2024 — The U.S. Census Bureau today released additional data from the 2022 Annual Capital Expenditures Survey (ACES) about the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on U.S. businesses; if/when they returned to normal levels of operation; and the impact on planned spending of assets­ to restore normal operations. Normal levels of operations are based on sales, revenue, shipments, profits and employment before the pandemic hit the U.S. in March 2020.

All data are available at the national level by 2017 North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 2-digit industry sectors.
