Abstract
Estimates of the future size of the national population are often necessary pre-requisites for both long- and short-range planning by business and government. The Bureau of the Census, over the past decade, has developed and published projections indicating the size of the population that would result if specified assumed levels of fertility, mortality and net immigration were to be realized.
